The Children’s Film Society, A.P., organized the Film Appreciation programme, the third in the series of workshops designed. The programme was held in Telugu University, Seminar hall . The programme entailed screening of three films namely (1) Glimpses of Indian Cinema (2) Pahle Aap (3) Pakda Gaya (4) The Goal which were watched intently and discussed upon. About 175 school children from 40 schools participated in the programme.

Mr.M.Murali Mohan, Famous Film Artist was the chief Guest and he inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and switching on the projector.

Mr.Murali Mohan appreciated the initiative of the CFS,AP by bringing such useful programme like the Film Appreciation Programme. He commended the impact created by the CFS,AP in the school children. He complimented the children for building skills of appreciation which he is building in his later years of life. Mr.Veda Kumar detailed the efforts of the CFS, AP., in conducting Children’s Film Festivals, workshops and Film Appreciation Programme which bring constructive awareness of film making. The participants of this Film Appreciation programme will attend the 1st Asian Children’s Film Festival as official delegates from 14th to 21st November .Further he informed that good number of the best Children’s Films are participating in the festival from India and Asian Countries. Mr.Prasad spoke of the importance of Film Appreciation . He guided the students to have insight view of film and build up to be confident human beings by expressing their feelings without fear. Mr.Gopalan differentiated “Seeing” films and “Watching” films to the school child. Mr.Jagan expressed the different types of films that exist i.e., one for the general audience and second for a selected section of audience who analyse films closely. Mr.M.N. Raju , Vice Chairman of the Society also spoke on the occasion, Mrs Shobha Singh welcomed the gathering, Mr. N . Om Dev proposed vote of thanks. |

FILM MAKING PROGRAMME at the Seminar Hall of JNTU College of Fine Arts The Children’s Film Society, A.P. conducted a ‘Filmmaking Workshop in the Seminar Hall of JNTU College of Fine Arts on 5th November, 2002 from 9.30 a.m to 5.00 p.m for the benefit of school children of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. About 45 children from around 22 schools participated in this workshop. Mr. Rajamani, Senior lAS (Retd), an environmentalist, inaugurated the programme and shared his knowledge and experiences in doing a film on children and youth. He emphasised that school students should begin understanding various techniques of film making like camera operation, editing and directing at an early stage so as to grow into experts at a young age. Mr.M.Veda Kumar, Chairman, CFS,A.P. presided. He detailed the need for conducting such workshops so as to provide a platform for children to ventilate their views. He said that these two films made by these children would be screened in the forthcoming 1st ASIAN CHILDREN’S FILM FESTIVAL ‘2002 to be held from 14th November to 21st November 2002. He announced about the ‘Film Appreciation Programme which is to be held on 7th November, 2002 in “ Telugu University “ ( adjacent to Public Garden) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Interested persons could contact the Children Film Society, Ph # 7635669 for further details. Raju, Vice Chairman, CFS, AP, and the resource persons also participated Eminent resource persons, Mr.Anil Ekbote, Writer for children and a Freelance Film Critic and Prof. Yashodhar Rao, Head Of Department, Photography, JNTU college, Mr.K.Nagesh, Lecturer, University of Hyderabad and Mr.Raghu, from Ambedkar University guided the children into various aspects of Film Making The workshop was based on the work done by students in previous session on “Script Writing “. The preliminaries of film making like, screen play and dialogue writing and casting in addition to allocation of responsibilities for directing, editing and camera etc were finalized. Earlier Mrs. Shobha Singh, welcomed the gathering and Mr.Om Dev, proposed the vote of thanks. |

SCRIPT WRITING WORKSHOP at the Seminar Hall of JNTU College of Fine Arts
The Children’s Film Society, A.P., conducted the Script Writing Worskhop in the Seminar Hall of KJNTU College of Fine Arts On 02-11-2002 from 9.30 am to 5.00 p.m for the benefit of school children of the Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The programme was attended by eminent personalities viz, Mr.B.Narsing Rac. Filmmaker, Mr. AK. Bir, Script Writer, Mr. Shankar, Artist, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Actor and Director and Mr M Veda Kumar, Chairman, CFS. A.P. who interacted with the students and cleared their anxieties about film making and script writing. Mr.B.Narsing Rao, encouraged the students by commending them on the efforts put by them to enhance their skills in writing and film making. Mr.A.K Bir emphasised the kinds of thinkers viz Natural thinkers, Speculative thinkers etc. who finally write meaningful scripts and also contributed thoughts in understanding ideas and deciphering ideas to a vision which culminates to a good script. Mr.Ashok Kumar film director and eminent T.V Artist shared his ideas of script writing and encouraged the children to develop their skills to become able writers. About 30 children from around 18 schools participated in the said workshop. Eminent resource persons viz. Mr Anil Ekbote, Prof.Yashodhar Rao, Mr.Gopalam and Mrs.D.Sujatha of Literacy House facilitated the workshop and guided the children into the various aspects of script writing. The nuances of script writing was detailed in the workshop where children had to write their own stories which were reflected by the resource persons. Mr.Anil Ekbote and Mr.Gopalam and Mr.Yashodhar Rao who shared in detail, the correct understanding of writing meaningful stories and the right sensitivities towards attitudes, social, moral and educational aspects of life around children . The constituents of script writing, the principles behind and nature and kind of stories to suit different audiences were also detailed. The workshop entailed individual and group activities for the children. They wrote stories individually which was reflected upon by the resource persons and also wrote major scripts I stories in groups of two which would form the basis of the forthcoming Film- making Workshop DT: 5th Nov 2002 and 6th Nov.2002 in the Exhibition Hall JNTU College.
