What they said !!! "Government of Andhra Pradesh is offering heavy subsidies for making children’s films. Yet film producers are shying away from making good children’s films"
Hon’ble Devender Goud
Minister for Home, Cinematography, APFTv&TDC
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Today’s children have no option but to watch ‘crime and action’ films as they do not get to see movies that suit their tastes. I appeal to the government to support children’s film festivals like this and extend all possible help to NGOs like Children’s Film Society-AP, who are interested in making or promoting good children’s films.
Mr. M. Murali Mohan Chairman, Movie Artist's Assn ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Children also have artistic expressions. Films for them should not just have entertainment. There should also be education. Special attention on the making of children’s films is the need of the hour"
~~~~~~~~~~~~ "We are all children in different sizes and shapes and lets be children for a while and as much as possible." "Great man is he who does not lose his child’s heart."

OPEN FORUM STARTS ON AN ENCOURAGING NOTE "In International Film festivals there is a section on Asian films but it accommodates very few films that is why there is need to have an exclusive Asian Film Festival. More so, when we take into account that at least three Asian said M.Veda Kumar, Chairperson, Children’s Film Society A.P. said. He was welcoming children and others at the inauguration of Open Forum being held at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan as a part of the 1st ACFF. He also traced the growth and activities of the CFS, AP and underscored its efforts to make children learn to discerningly appreciate films through regular workshops. He also elaborated on how the districts of AP have benefited from children’s films screened throughout the year.
This set the tone for a frank and free session of over an hour at the Open Forum inaugurated on 15 November by Mr. Issa Rezazadeh, Cultural Counsellor, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Speaking about children’s films in Iran Issa Rezazadeh told that out of 70-75 films being produced annually 10-15 are for children. He also traced out a brief history of the development of films in Iran. Panelist Mr.. Kaushik felt that society’s efforts should not end with a week long festival but should continue round the year. Another panelist and Director Mr. Ashok laid stress on child psychology and development of a child’s personality Vijay, a child artist who won Karnataka State’s award for acting, said, "We are like plants. When you water us with encouragement we grow," This was followed by several children asking probing questions. Like Praneet and Harjas questioning about the change of focus and abrupt ending of the Iranian film Willow and Window. In answer, Mr. Rezazadeh pointed out several strong and sensitive aspects of the film. Answering yet another question he informed that it is possible for Indian film-makers to seek help from Iran to make good films. He also told that he has personally suggested renowned Iranian film directors that a film on Hyderabad could be worth making. There also was a question in lighter, but sincere vein whether Irani Chai and Irani Haleem are really Irani?" Mr. Rezazadeh, with a beaming smile, said that the Iranians had a very special and a very different way of making Chai and also Haleem.
Why is Asian Children's Film Festival important ? (Based on Mr.Issa Rezazadeh, Cultural Councellor, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, New Delhi)
