PUPPETRY WORKSHOP

 

As part of the 14th International Children’s Film Festival 2005, a Puppetry workshop was organized at the State Archeological Museum at Public Garden on the 16th November, 2005 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

 

Around 40 students from 8 schools of the twin cities participated in the workshop.  The students were divided into groups of each group made a lot of puppets viz., shadow puppets, an anchor lady, glow puppets and chart puppets.  After making the puppets, they worked a story around them.  The stories were of “Lion & The Mouse”, “Frame and the Tortoises”, “Crow and the Swan”, etc.

 

The students were coached on the technical processes of making puppets. They were given hands on experience thereby registering on the skills effectively. The students were engrossed in the process.

 

The workshop was visited by the panelists of the Open Forum, who were shown the puppet shows done by the students.  The dramatics by the students was remarkable.

 

The panelist introduced with the students by asking a few questions on the interests and techniques of making the puppets.

 

They interacted with the resource group.  Ms. Madhavi Latha introduced her team to the visitors.  They were congratulated on the good services offered.

 

Mr. Veda Kumar explained the significance of taking up puppetry workshop and its relevance in the film festival.

 

The workshop ended with a vote of thanks

 

The participants were participated in the Puppetry carnival on 18th Nov, 2005 at the Main Festival Venue PRASAD’S MULTIPLEX.
