The finale of the Open Forum programme took place on the 19^th November 05 at the Media Centre, Prasad Multiplex. The programme was chaired by Mr. Veda Kumar, Chairman, Children Film Society, A.P along with Mr. Reza Remani, Iranian Film maker, Mrs. Sejhu Singh, film maker, Mr. Vinod Ghanatra, film maker from Mumbai, Mr. Ajay Kartik, film maker.

The programme began with the introduction of the panelist and their viewpoints on the topic:

“ What after the film festival ?

“ What is the role of the educational bodies and the voluntary organization in promoting children cinema? ”

Each panelist expressed concern as well as promise to support any continuum to the festival if it is initiated. Mr. Vinod expressed concern over the limitation of the audience of these festivals and that initiatives should be invested to reach out to the larger masses. he urged the students to create demands for such festivals and that the government and related bodies would then look at supply factors.

Mrs. Sejhu appealed to the student not to get victimized as patent consumers of branded commodities and become vulnerable to the glitter and glamour of these products and thus become potential market for them, instead she appealed the students to think and dwell on the thought of creating platforms that would enable them to think developmentally. She urged the students to continuously demand for such festivals and make the departments compel to think on these issues.

Mr. Ajay kartik expressed his concern over the same fact and added that if students do not appreciate these efforts of the film festival there would be less effort put.

Mr. Reza spoke of his films as medium to communicate the realities of a child’s life and thereby sensitizing people towards their issues. His film that revolves around a 12 yr child who struggles for the health of his father and for his studies was a commendable effort of depiction.

Subsequent to the expressions of the panelist, the chairperson led the students to ask questions of their interest to the panelist. The range of interactions spread from sharp questions to pertinent suggestions. The interaction interspersed between the students telling the panelist to do something for the students who had no access to these festivals and for those foreign students to congregate at the festivals and make it a true cross cultural exchange programme.

The participants of Film Making Workshop from Guntur, Vishakapatnam were acknowledged with presentation of momentoes and also to the participants from Chattisgarh, Meak, Cuddapah and other districts were acknowledged with certificates and momentoes.

The organizers of the Open Forum were also felicitated with the momentoes for the yomen service rendered.
