                        ANIMATION WORKSHOP
                          Venue: Conference Hall, JNTU College of Fine Arts
                      Date:  16th -  17th Nov 2003 between 9.00 am and 6.00 pm

At this workshop children shall learn art & techniques of animation.  Through this workshop the ultimate audiences of cartoon films, by making them aware of the medium,  this would allow them to appreciate the process and art behind the films that they see almost every day on channels such as Cartoon Net Work, Kermit etc.,

 At this workshop 40 young enthusiastic children who have been selected from various schools shall learn the followings processes:

 How animation films are made

·        Purposes and uses in entertainment, education and commercials, etc.,

·       Mediums such as clay, paper, sand 3D animation

·        Animation fundamentals

·        Animation storytelling

·        Studio procedures

·        Technology and animation

In the interaction session, students shared their views on animation, screening of cartoons and also their doubts  have been clarified  in the Question & Answer session.

Workshop was  conducted by the team of animators from Hyderabad.

 

The Children’s Film Society, A.P., in association with Children’s Film Society, India and A.P. State Film Tv & Theatre Dev. Corp. Ltd. Organized a 2 day animation workshop on 16th & 17th Nov, 2003 at JNTU College of Fine Arts.

The workshop was facilitated by the Heart Animation Studio. Around 45 students from 15 schools of the twin cities participated in the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. V.G. Samanth an eminent animator of India and the guest of honour was Mr. Edgan, animator Czec Republic, Ms. Barbara, Animator, Czec Republic also grace the occasion. The workshop is presided over by Mr. Veda Kumar, Chairman, CFSAP.

Mr. Samanth inspired the group of children by his revelations about the inceptions of the animation. He appreciated and commended the efforts of CFSAP under the chairman ship of Mr. Veda Kumar on bringing awareness of animation at the school level.

Mr. Edgan was surprised that knowledge of this art is being initiated at school level itself.  He expressed his pleasure to encouraged the students to work at the art as a career profession.

Mr. Veda Kumar, in his presidential remarks said that the children need to be given an opportunity to participate in activities such as animation film making, under the guidance of professionals in the field. The interested children develop and sharpen their skills to become a professional.

The students were divided into groups. Each group made a motion sketch. The same was scanned  and converted into a film.  Each film spanned to about 1min. or  10 sec. The workshop  will prduce 5 films. The procedure followed was that children make motion sketches  the first day and the following day the sketches were scanned and filmed.

The children enjoyed thoroughly, looked forward  to watch their creations in the film festival. The resource persons from the Heart Animation facilitated the entire workshop.
